Problem
A regulated banking platform ran Confluent Kafka on physical servers provisioned by hand. The infrastructure had to come under version-controlled management, but the servers were live and could not be recreated.
My role
Set up and operated Confluent Kafka on 25 bare-metal servers. Imported the existing physical servers into Terraform state so they were managed as code in place, and used Ansible for end-to-end services management.
